Clean Water Initiative: Installing Solar Deep Tube Wells in Coastal Areas
Solving salinity intrusion and water scarcity through sustainable solar-powered deep tube well installations in rural coastal communities.
Access to safe, potable drinking water is a fundamental human right. In coastal districts like Satkhira and Bagerhat, rising sea levels and salinity intrusion have contaminated shallow freshwater sources.
Sunbulah Welfare Association has successfully commissioned 15 solar-powered deep tube wells, tapping into deep freshwater aquifers beyond saline layers.
Each filtration point now provides pure, disease-free drinking water to over 250 individuals daily, reducing the daily water-fetching burden on women and children.
