Wheelchair Distribution Project

For people living with physical disabilities, limited mobility can create significant barriers to education, employment, healthcare, social participation, and everyday life. For many disadvantaged individuals in Bangladesh, the lack of a suitable wheelchair can make even simple daily activities difficult and can increase their dependence on family members or caregivers.

Recognizing the importance of mobility, dignity, and independence, Sunbulah Welfare Association (SWA), Bangladesh, implements the Wheelchair Distribution Project to provide mobility support to people with disabilities who are unable to afford a wheelchair of their own.

Through this initiative, SWA identifies and supports people with disabilities in different communities who are in genuine need of mobility assistance. By providing an appropriate wheelchair, the project helps beneficiaries move more safely and comfortably within their homes and communities and participate more actively in everyday activities.

A wheelchair is more than a mobility device—it can open the door to greater independence, confidence, and social inclusion. Improved mobility can make it easier for beneficiaries to access healthcare services, educational opportunities, community activities, and other essential services.

The project also provides meaningful support to families and caregivers by helping reduce the physical and emotional burden associated with assisting a person with limited mobility. Most importantly, it helps beneficiaries experience greater freedom and dignity in their daily lives.

SWA believes that disability should never prevent a person from living with dignity or participating in society. Through the generosity of donors and well-wishers, the Wheelchair Distribution Project seeks to create opportunities for people with disabilities to move forward with greater confidence and independence.
